SharePoint Information Architecture secures communications for 3,000 users.
The Client
This national construction company is one of the UK’s leading independent construction and property services company. Based in southern England, the business employs around 3,000 people, providing corporate and residential construction, interior fit-outs and refurbishments.
The Challenge
The client was using a legacy, internally hosted iManage application for document management which needed to be faster and more efficient. They were looking for a new, online secure document management solution that could offer the ability to share project information in a secure and compliant way to a variety of stakeholders in various locations.
Our Approach
Qaixen recommended a new SharePoint Information Architecture as part of their Microsoft 365 Digital Transformation Programme focusing specifically on Document Management and Microsoft Teams, using AvePoint for compliance and governance.
We migrated file share and iManage content from the legacy platform to SharePoint Online and introduced an adoption strategy for Microsoft Teams to the business. We also deployed a new Quality Management System (QMS) platform based on LiveTiles Designer, from one of our key partners.
This 7-month project also included a set of comprehensive training courses in SharePoint and Microsoft Teams along with guidance on Power Apps and Power Automate.
Business Benefits
With documents stored within SharePoint Online, employees no longer need to connect directly to the corporate network via a remote desktop to access files. Instead, 3,000 users can access it from any device, whether in the office or working on-site. Collaboration has significantly improved, and communication across multiple platforms with various suppliers, contractors, and customers is much more secure, meeting all compliance and regulatory requirements in what is typically a complex environment.
Our training sessions have maximised the return on investment in this new Microsoft 365 solution, as users are confident in using these new applications.
